From the Fundación Lucía we intend to promote a space for voluntary action within the associative, civic and social fabric, welcoming committed people with solidary values, with the aim to provide mutually binding answers to the needs of children and families that live with HIV/AIDS.

We are fully aware of the resistances that unfortunately still exist today from a social viewpoint with regard to to HIV. It is necessary to fight against this rejection raising awareness about children's fight against HIV/AIDS and having supportive attitudes. These two conditions are essential in order to achieve our program goals.

It is true that the civil society responds when social needs arise, fighting to defend human rights and children's rights, as well as fighting against the vulnerability and breach of children's rights. We observe a constant presence of committed citizens who are concerned and aware of in social welfare issues. Some of this people make an essential part of a movement that assumes and commits themseves to the objectives of Fundación Lucía: the improvement of the quality of life of children infected and affected by HIV and their families.

A team of professionals (internal and external) involved in the Foundation are responsible for the training and supervision of our volunteers.
